Employees Rights and Responsibilities


Introduction

In the HRM the most important part is that  employee rights and the responsibilities,  The ABC Plastic Industries (ABCPI) is the manufacturing the plastic consumer and plastic furniture items, the manpower approximately 400-450 employees from low level to high level, the employees right and responsibilities is the most important part to taken in to the consideration.

Literature

As ABCPI having 34 injection and blow molding machineries, the employees must read and understand the work place environment safety. Take after all legal matters and security and also the health rules and regulations, and wear or utilize required defensive equipment while working. Report dangerous conditions to the employer.

According to (Sherrei, 2019)  “employee has the right to refuse to perform unsafe work.” Unsafe work is considered a job assignment that might cause serious injury or death to the employee.” ABCPI having a highly risk on employees health especially on physical injuries, so the organization has provide highly safety in this regard, and 24 hrs transport facilities for the emegencies

The Sri Lanka labour law  covers the specially , Minimum wage, Hours worked, Discrimination, Health and security, Holiday privileges, Redundancy and dismissal, Training, Disciplinary procedures, Union rights and interview, among numerous others. (SL Labour Law), reference to the SL labour law the ABCPI mostly consider the discrimination, and  worked hrs, where as the organization operate 24 hrs shift work,  considering to that the HRM has to monitor the night shift work accordance to the SL labour law rule, and also the ABCPI has to provide the proper training, employees had to have more concern about the training time to operate the machinery in proper manner.

Conclusion

Employees have health and safety duties as well as employers. This reflects the fact that for good safety management it is essential for the employer and employees to work together.

  1. It very good that you have related your posting to a real organisational context. However, you have a list of references but cited only one in the main text. Whatever listed in the reference should be cited in the main text. In other words only cited references should be listed as reference

  2. Good Article, If your ABCPI employees are performing high-risk work they will be very happy if the company can install a medical facility within the organisation rather than keeping a vehicle stand by and the insurance policy for accidents.
