Introduction
The ABC plastic Industries is a
plastic manufacturing company in the north western province, employed with
450-500 no of employees with injection and blow molding machinery, with new technology
development the company can develop the
production with fully automated machinery, but the company gradually decided to
introduce with new machinery with fully automated facilities in near future.
Literature
The 4th industrial
revolution and the future jobs is most important chapter in the current
situation, the 1st industrial revolution has been occurred in Netherlands
was (1760) that handmade crafts business by former crafts workers could not compete with factories manufacture
products, the second industrial revolutions started 1870-1914 know as technology
revolution brought mass production and industrialization, 3rd Industrial revolution began 1960-1990 its
brought the mainframe computers, personal computing and the internet, due to
this the traditional middle class workers face job issues. (Van Dam,
2017)
The manufacturing sector is on the cusp of the 4th industrial
revolution (4IR), bringing with it modern technologies and strategies that will
alter the products, forms and supply chains included in each viewpoint of
industry. This technology ushers in even more prominent connectivity that will permit
manufacturers to maintain their competitive edge in a rapidly changing world,
and respond flexibly and rapidly to customers’ necessities. (Charis, 2016)
the acceleration of technology will shorten the self life of
existing knowledge, expertise and skill, and require different competencies
which need to be develop. For example, a specific activities of jobs become
automated, people will be required to focus on new activities which require
different skill. Technological skill will experience the faster change (Van Dam,
2017)
Conclusion
Finally, the 4th
industrial revolution is also referred to as the digital age which necessitates
that people develop digital competencies. The EU argues that “there is a need for digital skill for
nearly all jobs where technology complements existing tasks. In the near future
90% of jobs will require some level of digital skill” (Sherrei, 2019)

New technology makes it easier for companies to automate routine tasks and could disrupt the balance between job responsibilities completed by humans and those completed by machines and algorithms.
